The ISA-Bus

One blog to bind them all.

Jo Guest, video game babe

No glamour model has ever been as closely associated with video games as Joanne Guest. Born 1972, she entered professional modelling around 1992 and became the sex symbol of the New Lads after she was featured in Loaded magazine. From 1995 to around 1997, this magazine seemed to circle mostly around her.

In 2001 she announced her retirement from modelling, though there are some occasional later photoshoots. She has been hosting TV shows since 1998, especially Men & Motors. She once tweeted that her favorite meal was “fish n chips washed down with cold Bud!”

The Milk Round

There existed, in 1993–94, a British company named Interactive Girls Club who brought out a few small games featuring porn and glamour stars of the time, which are now usually but incorrectly treated as one game under the name Interactive Girls.

These games included a virtual camera man, two simple multiple-choice adventure games where the player could pick up Vida Garman in a bar or seduce house guest Teresa May. Jo Guest’s game was named The Milk Round and featured a bit more game play, for in order to get into contact with her it was necessary to correctly plan the delivery routes. It is also a bit more raunchy than the others, since the victorious player gets to interactively shave her intimate parts.

Ad for Battlecruiser 3000 A.D., raunchier version

Jo Guest modeled for several video game ads, most famously for Battlecruiser 3000 A.D., the only one I could ever dig up. There were two versions of this ad, in the less raunchy one she wore panties. There is a long-going discussion which one is the original photo, the one with or without panties. Were they airbrushed on for the tamer version, or airbrushed off for the other one?

The ad is most likely from the year 1994, when Battlecruiser 3000 A.D. was hyped a lot and Jo guest not yet really famous.

This is about the only memorable thing from BC3KAD…I mean, besides that the game was a shambling trainwreck.
